Working Brake ESX/ZSX:
brakes which perform frictional work in standard duty e.g. a braking function is performed.
The tolerance range up to -30% in new state has to be considered if the working brake is used as holding brake.
The springs (Pos. 1) press the axial movable pressure plate (Pos. 2) and the brake disc (Pos. 3) which is mechanically connected to the rotor shaft against the friction disc (4) or motor end shield. The brake torque is created.
When a DC voltage is placed on the coil (5) in the magnet housing (6), a magnetic force is created whereby the pressure plate is pulled against the spring force against the magnet housing.
The brake disc is free to run and the brake is opened.
According to the way of use, the brakes are distinguished in their fuction as holding – or working brake.
